The lessons and tactics that are learned while training can be applied over a broad spectrum. It can make you more productive with your time, it will teach you that if you work hard, you will get what you deserve. It will teach you that patience helps avoid impulsive decisions and control your feelings, making you a more confident and respectable person. Ever since I started working out, I learned many valuable lessons. I learned that hard work will achieve your goals, there are no such thing as shortcuts, good things take time, and that the small things matter. I have been able to apply these philosophies throughout my schooling, my friendships and my extracurricular activities. It has taught me to not procrastinate, making my schoolwork a higher quality. It has taught me it’s good to be patient with friends, no matter how ridiculous they act. It has taught me to work hard toward my extracurricular, allowing me to become a better guitar and piano player.
Training for me means working out and working hard. During the summer of grade 9, me and my family went to Hawaii. There, I really pigged out, gaining a lot of weight, and by the time I got back to Canada, I was over 210 pounds. That, was a massive wake up call for me, I realized that I can’t live like this anymore. Ever since then, I’ve been working hard and training every day, working out, and eating properly. Slowly but steadily, I have been able to lose all the weight that I have put on and more. So far, I have lost over 30 pounds and I am losing more. All the training and working out I have done so far has paid off, and I’m seeing results I am happy with.
Training is something that I believe that everyone should do, the things you learn from it, and the feeling of accomplishment you get from finally achieving the one goal that you put so much time and effort into, is absolutely worth it.
